For all budding restorers out there. If you really want to get your teeth into something realistic, which could be brought back up to pristine static display condition relatively easily, HHA still has Hunter F4 WV276 for sale. During the last three months there have been numerous serious enquiries and offers on the aircraft, but none have actually completed the deal. Interested ? Then, contact HHA at info@hunterteam.com.” or PM me.

I dont have any room for a complete Hunter and live in Scotland, so couldn’d consider it mores the pity. Anyone either an individual or a museum got space and wants to share ownership/intial costs send me a PM. I might be able to assist. Not much time on ebay.

A few years ago I tried to buy a Hunter that was sitting idle at DX. Unfortunately I was pipped at the post and it went north. Since then I have found other things to amuse myself.
A big problem that any individual collector might face is the cost of transport and somewhere to work on the a/c plus a good place to display it.
If a small museum is interested in having a Hunter on display and has undercover facilities available during the restoration and respray then it is a viable project. An alternative to this is of course to have a large estate of ones own and an understanding ‘other half’.
I hope she gets a good home and is available for public viewing in due course.

Static only I.m afraid though nothing is impossible with the right time and money. This is the one parked up at Scampton. It is fully blanked and protected against the weather though and would make an excellent project for any wannabe restorers and a chance for some enthusiasts to get hold of a real aircraft and return it to its former glory.

is this the one parked up outside at Scampton?
