Great news Chaps, I will get myself up their as soon as humanly possible, I still have a stack load of manuals for James & the Bucc and will bring them with me.

Good to hear that things are progressing. What other exhibits are there apart from the airframes and cockpits?

Pity that I couldn’t stop when I was passing Inverness the other week, but maybe try to ‘pop’ up some weekend.

Glad to hear your favourable comments, If you know Inverness Airport we are located on the Industrial site, and are very easy to find. We are allways happy to have visitors (Saturday/Sunday is best and we do allow visitors to go inside the exhibits)) even now as we continue prepare the site. We just have a few jobs left, mostly to assist our disabled enthusiats, but the hope is to be open to the public from late August or early September.

The Valiant (XD875) was previously at Bruntingthorpe and Newark, the Bucc (XK532) is the ex Lossy gate Guard, The Lightning (XM169) & JP (XN607) are on loan from Ken Ward but we have plans to expand further this year, but site size will make that challenge interesting. I will post more views in due course

Hi Gateguard, cool pics, is that Valiant cockpit th ex Newark one? its a bit of a trek for me but i will try and get up that way some time and have a looksee.

I’m pleased to hear that you’ve made such excellent progress and I look forward to making a trip up to Inverness in the not too distant future to see your collection. Am I right in thinking that you’re located on part of the Longman estate, ie on the site of the aerodrome?

Do you have displays of information about local aviation sites? I ask because as well as aerodromes such as Longman and also Lossiemouth and Kinloss (the latter two not being too far from Inverness) there was also the Fighter Group Headquarters at Raigmore and numerous other units in the Inverness area during the war. It would be good to tell their story. I have quite a bit of info on Raigmore and other places such as Bunchrew House if you’re interested.
