Hispano Buchon

Morning all,

I’m trying to do some research on the Hispano built variants of the the Bf 109. My biggest problem is sorting out the differences between the different variants (apart from the obvious Merlin vs Hispano Suiza).

Now according to many sources report there was the following variants:

Ha.1109K1L
Ha.1109J1L
Ha.1110K1L
Ha.1110M1L
Ha.1112K1L
Ha.1112M1L
Ha.1112M2L
Ha.1112M4L

Ive had a lot of sources that contradicted each other so the deeper I look the more muddy it becomes.

Can anyone post some drawings that show the differences, pictures, a list and/or decent web sites that can throw some light on this please?

Also for the Avia S.199 / CS.199 to please?

Cheers

I know what you mean. I know someone who tried to tell me a Do217 E-4 was fitted with DB603 engines and not with the BMW801.:p

Thats just crazy-talk!

Wikipedia has a page on the Buchon variants, though as to its accuracy I have no idea, and I’m nowhere near my books at present:

The Avia S-199 “Mezak” or Mule was fitted with a Junkers jumo 211 same as fitted to Heinkel He111`s and rated at 1,340 hp.

origingally, wasnt the avia S.199 the same as one of the late model 109’s witha DB engine? the parts being put together from factories abandoned by the germans towards the end of the war.

then after a fire or something, destroying the remaining stock of DB engines, they chose the jumo 211 , the result being in a ridiculous aircraft to fly with huge amounts torque from the jumo engine and prop…

i think thats about right
