Historic engine types for sale…

I just saw this on WIX and thought you might be interested that the New England Air Museum is selling some of their stored engines.

Major European types include a Cirrus, Goblin, and Junkers Jumo.

I have been trying to send a motorcycle to the UK but with freight and VATetc 4k becomes something over 7k and the sale falls through. I assume it would be the same with an old jet engine.

That sounds painfully familiar!

I don’t have a clue what Howard 500 was referring to, but as Bruce pointed out, if it is a Beaufighter for example, later Hercules, which are cheap and readily available, are not suitable.

I wonder what one should expect to pay for a Derwent, non runner, exhibition only.

I have heard a sectioned one is up for sale locally in Essex for around 2.5k also an Avon. but for the life of me I do not know who told me.

I understand NEAM have been inundated with emails and offers of purchase and have suspended the sale while they reconsider the process.

There are lots and lots of Hercules engines about – hundreds of them. They are not however the wartime type, and wont work in an earlier application…..

Wonder if there’s 2 Bristol Hercules engines I can think of a plane that would benfit them.

I know of two still in transport pods complete in excellent condition .ex transal engines ex WGAF. I understand the man wants about £5k each for them.

Anyone want to buy me the Anzani 6, that would be fantastic to get. I was after one of these when I built the Austin Whippet replica..now at Doncaster.

Blimey! Over sixty engines for sale…..that must be some collection if these are the ‘spares’! 😮

I quite fancy the T-1020, it’s not every day you see a radial diesel engine, or the Packard-Liberty, but the postage may be a bit pricey!
