Just thought everyone might be interested to look at this hand drawn manuscript by an RAF Aircraft Inspector. It’s ridiculously priced, but wonderfully illustrated.
Cheers,
Richard

Ah – quite right – sorry
I had gone on to the air gunners log book and other paraphenalia.

Posting too late at night Moggy or need a new calculator, try £7440!
Or perhaps too early in the morning for some 😉 – I think Moggy is referring to one of the other items for sale, also at an inflated price ($2500).
I don’t think he’ll get his asking, but you never know, fools and their money are easy parted, and his country doesn’t have a shortage of either….!
Regards,
Scotty

As I can see Feltwell aerodrome from my house I could have been tempted at a reasonable price. But even at today’s favourable exchange rate £1,200 for a six operation Air Gunner’s log and some supporting documentation is far too steep.

Well, none of us could afford it, or anyone else for that matter, no bids.

My father was an Aircraft Apprentice before the war (service number 563828) and had a number of similar books compiled while he was at RAF Halton, all beautifully illustrated too. I was living in Sweden when he died, and by the time I got to England my late stepmother had thrown out all his RAF memorabilia, at least that is what I assumed. However perhaps someone was able to rescue something, so if anyone knows of any such books or his photograph albums containing memories of the aircraft carrier HMS Eagle on the China station before the war identifiable by his name, C F W Langsdale or service number 563828, please contact me by PM.

As nice as it is, these things turn up quite regularly on Ebay, and tend to sell for just a few pounds – certainly less than 50.
Did anyone see the logbook from Buzz Aldrins collection, written as he was on the moon mission – it had a similarly stupid price attached to it.

Very interesting, very long listing, good illustrations, where do these auctioneers dream up these prices?
