Anyone know where you can get weather conditions for Jersey Airport last Thursday? A realtive was told it was fog bound and their flight from DSA was subsequently cancelled, but they were all bussed to Coventry for a later flight. Relative thinks Thomsonfly may be trying to avoid paying out compo by blaming the weather.

Thanks for the site Yippkaya – very useful. Bad weather now confirmed as a colleague flew a light aircraft to Calais last week – should have stayed one night but ended up staying three due to bad weather over the Channel! His wife still hasn’t forgiven him – lots of making up to do! Even worse you can’t get much cheap wine in a Cessna!

Have a look here Wunderground – scroll down to the bottom for the conditions throughout the day.

Fog in Channel – Europe Cut Off!
Don’t know about Jersey, but Guernsey flights were certainly badly disrupted Weds/Thurs/Fri last week, many were cancelled, and some people didn’t get off the island for four days! 7000 people wer affected apparently.
I assume Jersey might have bene simiallry affected? Try looking at Jersey news-type web sites if they have “old news” sections

I was speaking to a friend who controls the Worthing sectors and said a couple of flights turned back because of the unique gale force fog 😀

I don’t know the exact meteorological conditions, but there definately was fog in the Channel Islands because I remember seeing that all Jersey/Guernsey flights were cancelled at every airport.
Thomsonfly will therefore not pay out since the weather is beyond their control
