Can anyone remember a TV documentary in the mid 1980s about the history of Jet flight. if I recall it was three one hour programmes over about three weeks with dramatisations and original footage of Whittle’s testing days and the early days of the Gloster E.28.
Later in the series the narration was taken over by Chris Orlebar – the Concorde Pilot – who described its contribution in later passenger jet travel. The series finished with him taking off in a Cherokee from Filton with one of the Concorde’s in the background!
The whole series was excellent and would love to get it on DVD if its available.
Two questions please:
1) What was the name of the series, perhaps “Jet Trail”?
2) Is it available on DVD
Many thanks
