Can anyone please give me a lead to photographs of HMS Ark Royal (the fixed-wing one) being broken up?
Thanks.

As promised, a few stills captured from the final episode of ‘Sailor’. I thought I’d add some others as well, including the episode that created the signature of a forum member, I forget who at the moment though.

I guess that would be me then!!

Try the series of books called “To sail no more” there’s lots of the best part of the whole 1960’s and ’70’s Royal Navy being ripped apart and turned into tins and razors. Very sad but very interesting. They’re all in them. Bulwark, Albion, Triumph, Centaur, Eagle, Victorious, Ark Royal plus all the wartime ones and Nelson, Rodney, etc etc. Try www.navybooks.com and Fan publications for a whole series of stuff on the RN of yesteryear.
Hope that helps

I’ll try and do it this weekend. It’s going to be a busy one so fingers crossed.

John, that would be great, many thanks. They are needed for the end of a presentation on the fixed-wing Fleet Air Arm.

Not much luck on Google.
At the end of the ‘Sailor’ series on DVD there is a special episode revisiting some of the characters who took part, one scene is at the scrapyard where Ark Royal was being reduced. The former chief(?), now retired, was in tears.
I might be able to grab some stills from it but they won’t be very good quality I think. Let me know if you need them.
