Yes you right about that mate 🙂
nothing is for sure any more.. But on the paper it looks great the navy gets allot off new things so a logical argument is that the Navy gone get the upgrades…
but on the other hand do you remember when we did try to mechanize our infantrie? The army did bought 350 newly renovated PBV-501 (BMP 1) for allot off money and we did use them for one year before the whole idea off the mechanized infantries where scraped and the PBV 501 where locket in a mountain for safekeeping 😡

I think that it will be tha SBO version of HKP15, among other things it is supposed to have a shortend tail to fit into the hangar, if there ever will be hangars (“yes” has had a tendency to mean “no” after FB04)

Yes, I believe it will be the HKP15.

Are they still gone get the helicopter hangar? And what shopper are they gone use?The helicopter on the picture is the old HKP6 (Agusta Bell 206 Jet ranger) and those are gone from the military today so i hope it gone be the new HKP15 😀

Apparently there has been preparations done to include heavy torpedoes, I am guessing they wanted to include torpedo 62.

That would be a nice picture… a Nansen, a Visby and a Skjold side by side.

What are you complaining about Hamburger, Norway is getting 6 Skjold class missile boats and 5 Aegis frigates, and a new 3100 ton OPV was delivered last month !
You can compeer any off those ships with the Swedish stealth corvette 😉
The Visby class is unique in the world…

Yes, Norway has (or will have) a very impressive navy for its size. I think Izar hopes to build an AOR for you too.

nice ship, why do you guys have to build such nice things. I wish Norway did half the things you guys did. Now i’ll have to sit here and play with my oil 🙁

Last I heard they were deciding between RBS 23 and ESSM for the SAM. These will be fitted aft the superstructure.

I would also put my money on K36 Uddevalla, as it was to be the last ship in the series (pre FB04). I am a bit sceptical to rbs23 ever being used seeing that the army version is dead.

Fjaj
ohh my mistake sorry about that so thank you for straighten things out for me 🙂 but if the navy only gone get five ship which one is not gone be made? Can it be HMS Uddevalla?
By: fjaj - 24th February 2005 at 13:27
First of all HMS Härnösand is the third Visby class vessel to be launched, HMS Helsingborg was the second. Secondly there were never more than five ships ordered, the last and sixth one was an option. And the rbs23, I was under the impression that the project had been completely scrapped.

HMS Härnösand
As far I know the Swedish Navy will get all six ships.
————————————————————————–
En qoute korvetten STOCKHOLM fick all att skratta så tårarna rann med följande uttalande:
“Här åker man 1 200 distansminuter och det första man får se när man når skotska västkusten är att det myllrar med stridsbåtar och G-båtar!”
Grodmarinen…. 😀 😀

Do you know if the navy gone get the rest off the ships from the Visby class or are they cancelled? They where supposed to get six new stealth ship and two are delivered HMS Visby and HMS Härnösand but what about HMS Helsingborg ,HMS Nyköping,HMS Karlstad and HMS Uddevalla?
By: Malin - 24th February 2005 at 10:24
Yes I know that mate but HMS Härnösand where supposed to have the 40mm instead for the 57mm in the beggining because we have ten time more 40mm ammo then 57mm ammo in army store and we have more verity off ammo to the 40mm ..and the 40mm shot 330 rounds per minute the 57mm shots 220 rounds per minute. But off course the 57mm have a longer firing range (17km??) and i am not saying that the 57mm is a bad gun 🙂 its a great gun
Men det är bara mina 50 öre 😉

HMS Härnösand
Most Swedish warships since the Destroyers where decommissioned in the early 80’s have had the Bofors 57mm/70 as its main gun. All the SPECIA I Class (Torpedo Boats), SPECIA II Class ( Norrköping Class FAC), Kaparen Class Patrol Boat, Stockholm Class Corvette, Göteborg Class Corvette and Visby Class Corvette.
The Göteborg Class Corvette has a secondary 40mm/70 gun in the aft.
The only new ships in the Swedish Navy that has the Bofors 40mm/70 as a main gun has been all the MCM ships and the Experimental Stealth Ship Smyge. Smyge had the 40mm/70 Trinity gun.

Beautiful… 🙂
I really like this class. Once you get SAMs installed and helicopters to deploy they will really be somthing.
Yes it needs a helicopter. Navy news says that it gone be modified next year.
but i am surprised to see that the 40mm Bofors gun is replaced with a 57mm Bofors
Some more picture off the Visby class corvette and it’s a real beauty 😎
