HMS Vindex Escort Carrier

I have been given access to the family photos of a friends father who served on HMS Vindex during the war. Most of the shots are the usual shots of him posing with comerades however there are a few nice ones of which a couple are below

I have put together a Blog post HERE in the hope of gathering more information. If you can help I’d appreciate your comments.

Thanks

UPDATE I have added a shot of RN Corsairs to the post.

There was another one called the Campania. All 3 were converted while under construction as refrigerated cargo ships.

It had open Hangar Decks, that must have been fun in the Arctic.

Port Vindex

This ship was still around in 1959/1960 as the Port Vindex and trading UK to New Zealand and Australia. There was also a sister ship the Port Victor which I think had also been a carrier.Port Victor was originally HMS Nairana, both ships were scrapped in 1971.
