HMSO, Air Ministry AP's…

Would the HMSO have kept the original photo’s of the AP’s they printed?

If they did do you think they would they still have them in their archives…

Try the National Archive. They have literally hundreds of APs, including many exotic ones. They are to be found in the Air10 category mostly although there are some in the Avia categories.

Well why dont you post what AP you are looking for? A decent bet someone here may be able to help!

EDIT: Ah hang on – reread your post and realised what you are after. I will be quiet now………..

Hmmm… Thanks Terry, I thought as much!

Shame, as I know that the manufacturer of the AC in question has’nt got them, or for that matter does’nt know who even took them?

I already have the AP, but hoped the original photo’s might be still around somewhere as they were of higher detail than the printed image in the AP… 🙁

Ah well, never mind I will have to search a little harder!

Thanks again…

Original AP “Camera Copies”

Unlikely I would have thought. APs were/are usually produced by the most appropriate source, usually the manufacturer of the aircraft or equipment. The firm’s technical literature department may have kept originals whilst the AP was current. But as Crown material they were probably disposed of when the AP was declared obsolete. The RAF Museum have of course a collection of most APs but not the originals.
