I haven’t seen the show, but that sounds very peculiar Allen, Bhoy’s explanation sounds plausible

Yeah but the people were quite clearly disembarking before the international leg of the flight. They were adamant thay they were told that they they didn’t need to show their passports. Gotta admit I felt every sympathy for them, they were going internal and that was always their intention.
Stupid bloody rules I say.

I’m not Australian, but I can (I think).
There are two daily QF flights from Sydney to Brisbane that operate from Terminal 1 at Sydney (the International terminal). One of these flights continues from Brisbane on to LAX, the other continues on to Singapore. Because transit passengers don’t disembark at Brisbane, all pax embarking at Sydney have to complete immigration formalities. (There are 23 daily flights from Terminal 3 at Sydney to Brisbane which don’t require passports).

Can any of the Aussie guys explain to me why the family in episode one were messed around for passports and ID on an internal Austrailian flight which had been classified as international ?

Loved that 707! Can you imagine feeling ill on such a long flight? It’s a good job that man didn’t start feeling weak and ill when they have over 10 hours to go high up in the sky

Excellent programme, thoroughly enjoyed it!
It was nice to see some airport staff that actually seemed to go out of their way to help people! 🙂
As for Mt Travolta’s 707 … beautiful!

Even the drawer with the cutlery in it was awesome. Don’t think I’d like to be the cleaner, though!! 😮

Alaskan MD-83 accident in 2000 was a good one too,

Second episode is on tonight and tonight’s the night John Travolta is in it.
Nice to see Thai featuring in it quite a lot, but just a shame we never found out what happened in the end. They’re in it again tonight by the looks of things. HS-TGW was in the trailer for it.

Steve,
Scott Bakula (ST Enterprise / Quantum Leap) played the lost pilot

Lester B Pearson was a Canadian prime minister and it is he the airport (YYZ) is named after.
Where are their priorities! 😎

Back on topic again …….
Thought last night’s programme was excellent. What a difference between those QANTAS/ground agents and the Grizeldas and woodentops to be seen on easysoap at Luton and Liverpool. These guys actually wanted to help sort out the passengers’ problems !!!! A few lessons to be learned there I think.
Looking forward to tonights episode, with John Travolta’s 707 featuring. For those who haven’t seen John’s home at Oscala in Florida, where he parks his 707 in his driveway (yes, honestly) please click here -> http://www.rummaging.org/2004/03/travoltas_jumbo.html

[QUOTE=Ren Frew]Apart from the take off shot featuring a 732,
Isn’t that most annoying in aviation movies
I saw a movie once, i can’t recall the title, it was about two pilots ferrying two light aircraft from the US to OZ, one of them gets lost over the Pacific and an ANZ flight is diverted to the area to search for it
The plane in the real life drama was infact a DC10, but in the movie it’s a 767, and after landing at Auckland in adverse weather the pilots shelter under the wing of their aircraft waiting for the light plane to land and they are clearly standing under the wing of a 732

EAL_KING the reason they change the airlines name is to avoid the bad publicity. “Did you watch that programme about the Air Canada crash? Phew – wouldn’t fly with them”… if you get the idea! Avoids bad publicity!
And don’t forget it’s a feature entertainment film based on an event, not a documentary reconstruction of events. :p

was a v.good film and didnt want the breaks as i was wanting to know what happened i thought it was ironic tht they said it was impossible when they did it and at the end it sed all pilots at first who tried the simulation crashed
No, it became a feature of flight sim training after the incident, I think SAS were the first to insist all their pilots would do a dead stick sim landing before being cleared for jets?
Captain Pearson’s vast experience as a glider pilot (and other lucky factors) undoubtedly prevented this particular 767 from slamming into Winnipeg some 10 miles short of a runway.

Watched that today too, not a bad film, but the ACI programme looking into the Alaskan MD-83 accident in 2000 was a good one too, again on C5 last night, which i taped.
