Likewise, a very nice aeroplane indeed.

It’s totally not 100% accurate……. it has a RED crowbar on the access hatch.!!!!
Apart from that (and the *ring-and-bead gunsight and the 3-bladed prop and the ladle for a mirror……) it is a stunning build – all done on an apparent shoestring.
Excellent result Mr Deford.
Ken
Edit:- * Just noticed that it appears to have been removed?) – it was in the video.

Spectacularly beautiful. Please let Mr. Deford know how much it is appreciated over here.

Nice job, okay it’s not 100% accurate but so what. Most people wouldn’t know.

I remember first reading a feature on 1:1 Spitfire replicas in Classic Wings magazine in 2004, and realising a Jurca MJ.100 with an Allison was a much more realistic option that a real one. I’d love to see and hear Bob’s superb machine in person. Lovely!

Thanks for posting, what an amazing man & machine.
Wonder if he made some profit on the other Allison’s?

Looking good, loved the story about the rear view mirror

Yeah, Bob DeFord’s full-scale Spit is a cracker. I don’t care that it’s not 100% accurate, it’s still a hell of an achievement!
