We have had the question about cheating – in Ashleys Humour Me thread – so I wondered, since you were all so decent and above-board, if you all regard yourselves as honest.
How honest?
Do you admit to your wrong-doings before you are found out?
If you found money, or something of value, in the street would you hand it in rather than keep it?
Do you hold back from telling the complete truth when less than the truth has worked before?
Maybe you want to mark yourselves on your honesty out of ten?

I found twenty quid that a bloke in front and my wife stepped over a few months ago, picked it up and bought whippersnapper an ice cream.
That is one helluva ice cream…

I found twenty quid that a bloke in front and my wife stepped over a few months ago, picked it up and bought whippersnapper an ice cream. Is that dishonest? if I drop a quid then I’ve lost it. The finder is entitled to it I reckon. Whoever lost the twenty quid can’t expect it to come back to them. That’s not even remotely an honesty question.

I looked around, concluded that if I’d called out “anybody dropped some beer tokens?” I’d have been trampled to death in the rush, and drank ’em.
Marvellous! I fully condone your actions Ken, and furthermore, I reckon that qualifies you to amend your tag line to read “Founder member, Self Preservation Society” 😀

I like to think I’m scrupulously honest, but – probably 7 or 8.
I did find 5 beer tokens (literally, not loot) on the floor at a beer festival last year.

things i hold dear to my heart,
honesty (with family, friends and workmates)
faithfulness (with the woman i chose as a life partner, pity she didn’t feel the same 🙁 )
reliability, (if i promise something i will try my damnest to keep my word)
manners (costs nothing, worth loads).
taking 5 as average 5/10.

Ah, degrees of honesty.

I found a tenner on the ground in an industrial estate in Huntingdon a few weeks ago and put it in my pocket without too much of a pang of conscience.

I would like to think that I am honest. Several of you will know that you can safely leave your pint with me without it disappearing, although your wallets might be a different matter (not from me stealing from it – I could go through it searching for embarrassing content: which ‘cat’ once seemed proud to have an empty condom wrapper in his wallet?).
I take honesty seriously; maybe I have an old fashioned sense of decorum but when I saw the answers on Ashleys thread all I saw were cheaters: ‘I would never cheat’ was the mantra – do you people never drive cars? Do you expect us to believe that you wouldn’t nip onto the ten-items-or-less aisle in the supermarket when you only have eleven? Office stationary, hmm?
Therefore I would give myself a 5/10. If I am honest.

I don’t think, under the circumstances, that is a very helpful remark when you ununderstand why he hasn’t been here.
I’d like to think that I am basically honest and trustworthy. You can tell that from my face… – Nermal

I’d rate myself an 8 as well. Not that it’s doing me any damn good right now. C’est la vie. Seems like sometimes, being a **** gets you further. 🙁

8. Honestly.
