It’s been a couple of weeks since the 2007 New Year Honours List was published – were there any persons from the aircraft preservation/historic aviation field included?
How many people are there that have already received honours for work in these fields and who do you think should be nominated?
Roger Smith.

Probably not awarded specifically for it……but no doubt his 10 years with the BBMF was a contributory factor…..:)
Sqn Ldr Ian ‘Shiney’ Simmons was awarded the MBE in the 2007 New Years List.
Also flying with HAC now I see…..:)

Some hope
I think there’s little hope of any honours for the aviation fratertity from a Government led by a failed Pop star. If they cant even treat their servicemen and women properly past and present what hope is there?

I would nominate a Knighthood for Alex Henshaw.
