Hi,
does anyone here know what happened to a producer of very high quality card models called Hooten Models?
They used to supply the old shop at Old Warden and they even produced a range of themed Shuttleworth aircraft models in quite a large scale. I think 1/25th.
The packaging also carried the Shuttleworth logo.
As well as Shuttleworth, they did some of the aircraft at Hendon (Harts) as models, and other stuff, mostly civil stuff from the 1920’s and 30’s too.
The quality was very good and the models extemely complex to assemble, and it’s with this in mind I would like to try and establish contact with the owner, Mr Peter Richardson to see if they’re still in business.
They have a website that’s still live but it appears not to have been updated for a number of years and the E-mail comes back as unknown.
Anyone know Mr Richardson or where he might be found?
I know he did also produce a Tiger Moth model for one of our number–Mr T (Skybolt)–in the personal colours of the owner.
Anyone/Anything appreciated.
Cheers
Andy

Thanks Guys.
It’s a sad end to the story.
The models were nice and very specific to The Collection at Old Warden.
He was a very clever chap to have been able to design and produce them.

Peter Richardson was an architect in Liverpool who I knew slightly, and he died about three or four years ago – just dropped dead on board the yacht he was renovating out in North Wales.
When he wasn’t designing buildings or lecturing at Liverpool Polytechnic (now Liverpool John Moores Uni) he was a total aviation enthusiast and was also very much involved with the Hooton hangars project.
To the best of my knowledge his widow still lives at the address in Percy Street.

Andy,
I was advised by one of my friends who supplied material to help with the colour scheme of one of the models that the gentleman who ran the concern had passed away some time last year I gather.
