Hornet accident

Can any of you knowledgable folks help me please. I came across a picture on the interweb of a Hornet that was supposedly written off in 1954 when it hit a truck crossing the runway at Kuala Lumpur.

The story goes that it was one of two escorts for a visit to KL by the Duke of Edinburgh, he apparently arrived and departed by RAF Hastings.

My problem is that I cannot find a reference to a Hornet being written off under those circumstances. I suspect the year is incorrect because a quick Google search indicates that Prince Phillip was in KL in Oct/Nov 1956 and not 1954. Of course the location could also be incorrect. What is beyond doubt is that the aircraft hit a truck as its remains are visible in the photo, also there is no doubt that the aircraft was written off, the photo clearly shows extensive damage. Unfortunately the serial is not visible and the Hornet does not carry any other identifying marks.

So can anyone help me with serial and date of this incident, I would post a copy of the picture but I fear copyright might be a problem.

Thanks in advance.
