How about a forum Fly-in in 2006?

So, how about it chaps & chapettes?
See how many names we get then we can come up with a venue that’s central for all of us although I have to do my 300nm cross country for my CPL so personally distance is not an issue, I will rule out Scotland though 😉

Names below 🙂

Excellent. With a little help, we may well be the best-dressed couple there!

There’s a first time for everything!

Too good an opportunity to miss. You’re on 🙂

(I probably can’t remember how to fly anyway. Too busy moderating here)

You could always share my steed if you fancy popping over to my place… I have an invite from Mr Dubtrub to bring it to Leicester in any case.

Sunday 26th Feb, 11:30am
Sunday 5th March, 11:30am

At Leicester aeroclub

Objections, reactions, comments, amendments below please, I guess for those of us renting club aircraft as myself we need to know pretty soon so we can get them booked

So far my excuses for not flying this year have been:

1. The weather has been rubbish.
2. If the weather’s good, I’m in France.
3. If the weather’s good, and I’m not in France, we’re working on the ‘plane.
4. This excuse affects us all, but we don’t talk about it and it doesn’t stop most of us anyway.

Number 2 does mean that *airline* are getting lots of money out of the company, but this doesn’t benefit me that much 🙁

And anyway, one needs to be careful publicising Emeraude landings …

I think you’d have more chance if you organised a drive in to some car-park somewhere; particularly if you had a side-competition for “Best Thermos”, and “Nicest Sandwiches”.

I love the colourful characters that you find on this forum, but I get the impression that there isn’t a whole lot of flying going on.

Yes to the overhead, aircraft will be patroling the are, times are between 0900-1100, if you read this months copy of “loop” it tells you in there.

PM me if you need more info, Lincoln Aero Club is only manned at the weekend.

Sturgate has a Breakfast patrol on the 5th of Feb, free landings and a free breakfast if you get to the overhead without being spotted.

Look at the areas around and be careful, remember 313!!!!

Can you post more details please? i.e times of contest etc. I’ve tried to ring Lincoln Aero Club but couldn’t get an answer.

Only the overhead? surely not, when we went to one at Headcorn a few years ago they had turbulents nabbing people in the circuit, even on final, a bit unsporting I felt.

Well, weather permitting, I intend to be up and off on Sunday (sorry Deano). I’m taking one of my young men to Kemble for a bit of a high-speed lunch and a fashion make-over with aerobatics thrown in.

Why does this place seem to require several months to motivate itself.

I’m pretty sure you are smart enought to know the answer to that question, but please please keep it to yourself.

I was a member of a forum which took many weeks to arrange it’s fly in. They eventually organised it at an airfield, oblivious to the fact that there was a major airshow on that day. It went ahead anyway, but most of the people turned up by car because they were still students.

Nobobdy knew what anyone else looked like so although a lot of people went, they never all met up!

Suffice to say, I flew in. Damien pillioned. I met up with those I wanted to meet. I arranged for them to have a look around WK163 Canberra and we had a good time.
