Well they did it! Scaled Composites sent a man into space with their privatedly funded space program. Albeit it a small step it can be seen with similarities with the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk. The project cost about $20 million which is next to nothing. Perhaps the technologies utilized here will alter Commerical travel as we know it over the next 50 years.

One of a few little quirks of the new system methinks? Anyhow.. a huge cheer to Burt Rutan and all his team on this major landmark acheivement in commercial/private aviation. 😀
