How are the Apaches doing in the WOT?

Well the title is the question, how is the Apache doing in Afghanistan and Iraq? Conventional wisdom says that with its PGM capability, armour and advanced sensor package it should be reaping a rich harvest of Haji’s? However in comparison to the A-10, about which I have heard more glowing reports than I can remember and is rapidly becoming a USAF favorite, I have heard hardly anything about the Apache and the news that an Israeli bird fell out of the sky is not encouraging.

The Apache is an expensive piece of kit, is it justifying its existence at the moment compared to Predator and the A-10?
