How could Rafale lose the UAE deal to Typhoon

with all the news of UAE deal for typhoon imminent.. how did dassault blow this one since it was almost theirs to have?

did Rafale not meet the requirements UAE had but Typhoon could?
British better at politicking?
consistency with Saudi Arabian typhoons?
