How do you decapitate a head?

Bomber ‘was killed in bus blast’
July 13, 2005 – 1:25AM

The bomber responsible for the attack on a London bus last week was killed in the blast, Sky television reported on Tuesday, quoting police sources.

It was not clear whether the man had intended to detonate the bomb on the bus, Sky said. Police would not confirm the report.

Sky said a decapitated head found near the scene had been that of the bomber.

Forensic tests then led police to carry out raids today in Leeds, northern England and to a car at Luton railway station north of London.

A police source had earlier confirmed to Reuters that a head had been found but said it was thought to belong to a victim.

You know, I knew just what you were asking when I saw the thread title 😀

It’s a question along the lines of this:

If vegetarians eat vegetables, what do humanitarians eat?

pre-bloody-cisely … is it only you, me and the late Steve Young who comprehend this?

You can’t decapitate a head ! You CAN decapitate a body though…. 😮

When Rajive Gandhi [excuse the spelling if its in correct]was killed by a Tamil suicide bomber, the vest exploded and the pressure to the main body popped the head off the neck like a cork out of a bottle.so in most cases of suicide bombing the terrorist can be identified pretty quickly.

I’m just not getting through to you guys am I? Steve Young excepted.
This is not a serious discussion about how to decapitate a BODY – I’m thinking we have a sort of Zaphod Beeblebrox problem on our hands.

Assuming it was one of the terrorists, one would assume that the force of the blast ripped the murdering **** apart. I really hope it wasn’t quick or painless and he rots in eternal purgatory.

gnome, decapitation is quite simple. Either an immense brute force can rip a head straight off,or more likely,a very sharp item cutting through the joins of the neck bones.
Maybe a piece of shrapnel or debris did it.

Gee, I don’t know about that. Sky television is a brand, certainly in NZ and I thought also in thr UK? But anyway, it’s really all about “people speak” isn’t it? We know what they mean, but don’t really care how it’s said. The head was of course a disembodied head, not a decapitated head.

Sky television reported on Tuesday

Well if you are going to be pedantic about it lets ask a few more questions like how could the sky afford a television network, or how would a television network (as opposed to an actual television) report anything?

Presumably ‘decapitate’ means to ‘remove the top’. Therefore would a decapitated head be a bit like a hard boiled egg after you’ve chopped the lid off?

Gnome old son, you do ask some rather bizarre questions. Although perhaps I should be a bit more concerned about the fact that you and I appear to be on the same wavelength! 🙂

A decapitated head means it’s no longer attached to it’s body, your nit-picking

An explosion blast will generally take the line of least resistance. When wearing boots in combat it has been found that normal shoes will lead to a land mine taking your foot off, while boots will take your lower leg off as well. Wearing sandles often led to loosing toes, though with such damage to the rest of the foot that it generally had to be amputated anyway. The only exception was the very small mines designed to injure called toe poppers, where a good sturdy pair of boots would reduce the damage done.

I would suggest his head was blown off by the force of the blast.
