I found the best way was to learn to fly. That’s the best way to meet aircraft owners. Then you can swap flights in your respective aircraft.
Or join The Squadron down at North Weald and meet some of the world’s most wonderful aircraft owners! Make yourself useful (now you really will have to use your own imagination here) and you could be rewarded with a flight!

The fleet operated by Air Atlantique from Baginton Airport under the Classic Flight banner (referred to by an earlier poster) is magnificent. I’ve made a few flights with them and they are an excellent operation. If you’re really flush why not try Thunder City in SA (Lightnings and other jets) or I gather some operators in the USA can take you up in a B17.

try classic wings at Duxford for Tigers and Rapides

also try this list of flights in deHavilland aircraft

I have never seen flights in high performance warbirds advertised. There used to be a company at Shoreham that did Harvard flights but that was years ago. I think you get get rides in Jet Provest and/or Hunters at Kemble and North Weald? Remember you would need a aircraft that has a public transport c of A just like a airliner to do pleasure flights.

Tony, Tiger Moth trips are very easily arranged – check out your local Boots, WH Smith or lastminute.com
My wife got my trip from boots – around £150 for half an hor in a Tiger Moth at an airfield of my choosing. Worth every penny too!

Hello Tony…
Take a look at www.classicflight.com
The ‘menu’, for want of a better word, currently consists of a DC3, Percival Prentice, Dragon Rapide x2, Twin Pioneer or DH Devon for pleasure flights, or a traffic jam avioding arival at a variety of airshows!
