How effective will it be (typhoon)?

I’m just wondering how effective the typhoon is going to be over the proposed next 40 years of service? its already a generation behind the F-22 so whats it going to be like in 20 years time when the Russians have got their new kit, its only going to be half way through its service life, if it had entered service when it was supposed too in the mid 90’s there wouldnt have been as much of a problem but have such delays cost the RAF a fighter that can still be effective in 20 years time never mind 40. The Typhoon is a damn fine aircraft in my opinion but way too late in service, We should have gone strait from F-4 to typhoon if it had been ready in time.
