How good are US pilots abroad on excersices? The thruth!

I hope I could get some type of clarification. Several years ago, the US navy did a excercise with the Israeli air force. Being that the US navy pilots are one the best around, I was surprised to know that the Israeli beat them in aerial combat. I wanted to get more information but I was unsuccessful. Lately, the US airforce went to India and did some excercises there. I know that the Eagle practice some combat manouvers with the SU-MKI. From what what I read the Eagles lacked talent and were beaten by the Flankers. Are these two comments true? What all this hype abou the US having the best of the best only to be beaten by third world countries? Does any one have some information? Am I being mislead by reading wrong inforatiom? The story about Israel and the Us navy appeard in AFM. The purpose of this thread is to find out the truth!
