Wouldn’t it be the coollest thing to find a girl that likes fighter planes and fighter planes and fighter planes and more fighter planes? I think so, but I fear such birds are very very very very very rare 🙁
Who agrees with me?

Unless it refers to a mound of earth, the word “dyke” is also pretty offensive, Louise.
And on that note I think this thread, like 2006, has just about run it’s course.
A very happy New Year to all of you.

Should you be worried if you find a girl whos an aviation enthutiastic:confused:
I mean, We had similar girls in the army and those tend to enjoy of all sort of other menly things…like other girls, for instance;) 😉
…offcourse not all, but…
That’s rubbish, not all girls who like aviation are dykes.
Not only rubbish, it is offensive.

I can vouch for her, good lass is our snaps – I seem to recall an hour or more chatting by the Spitfire tent last time at DX? Yup, you, Janie and Ashley I’d be happy to take (were you mine) but my wife? Not a chance. less chance f me taking her to a show than there is of her coming with me to one.
I’m not married and that kind of statement really scares me. I don’t want to get stuck in a dead end or be a cheat. I wish it were simple:
Boy meets girl
They live happily ever after.
Rather than:
Boy meets girl
Boy goes to aviation event with another girl
girl goes to divorce court.
😀

Well there are some women that attend air shows because they truly want to as they enjoy it… the planes, the flying that is – not the endless stalls selling crystals, or magnetic bracelets or any such other toot.
Trust me, I get really wound up seeing people walking round various air shows looking like a bulldog chewing a wasp – if you dont want to be there , dont go! – its that simple.:D

The question is, for any prospective female with aviation interest, whether she is more inclined towards DH108 or Spit.
Can’t for the life of me imagine any possible reason for paying £30 to have my wife getting on my **** at an airshow. She does that at home.

John Travolta sounds like the ideal kinda guy. He loves to fly, has his own airport, and lots of money. Just the kinda guy that would suit an aviation lady.:)

Yes but a rich guy could buy you a hold fleet of Chipmunks – one for every day of the week………..and if you were really lucky he might throw in an Auster as well!

Or a Spit… 😉

The Chipmunk is a little piece of magic. Only something exceptional could replace that. If you ever see me in the gutter begging, I will still be flying the Chipmunk.

I’d be a fool to deny that money and the things it can buy are attractive. However, if I can choose between a rich guy who treats me in a less than satisfactory way and a guy who struggles with money, but treats me well, I’ll take the latter any day.
Unfortunately, my caving for Grand Vin de Chateau Latour will have to remain unfulfilled.
…….even if it meant that you had to sell the Chipmunk?

A man who is active in aviation is always more attactive than an armchair aviator. However, there is more to aviation than the pilots. Owners, engineers, historians, advisors, roundel police (not necessarily in that order) are all worthy of merit purely because you can have a decent conversation with them about warbird restoration, compression ratios, dry adiabatic lapse rates and chock-removal techniques.
…and I thought it was just the size of their wallets that they were interested in!

You have passed the test Janie, some girls have all the fun.
I guess another good place to find a lady interested in Aircraft, is at an Airshow. One just needs to be capable of standing next to such a person , and starting a conversation. Make sure though that she doesn’t have a husband, otherwise one could get into some serious trouble.:D
Also don’t look to much of a nerd, and look presentable, I will have to work on that.
Anyhow my sunglasses look cool, and I have a friendly personality, so there is hope yet.
This web site should have a, ‘ men meet ladies interested in Aircraft ‘ forum, that would be a great idea for us lonely guys.:D 😀

However at the end of the day I think the girls are more nterested in the pilots rather than the spotters!

You could always join the British Women Pilots’ Association.
Membership is not exclusive to women. They never bother discussing men v. women. They just go out and have a bit of aviation fun.
The best place to find a woman who likes aviation is on an airfield. The more time you spend there, the more likely you are to find the woman of your dreams. The more time you spend on a forum, the more time you are likely to find miserable men complaining that that they cannot find aviation women.:p
Me & jets? I’ve flown in a L29 and a Canberra and thouroughly enjoyed it. Climbing in and out of a couple of Harriers and a Tornado was fun too. I’ve stood on the wing of the Southend Vulcan in high heels too! (Long story). Does that answer your question?

Hey that’s not fair you mean you’ve got a girl who actually talks to you? I’d settle for a girl who talks to me without either complaining or argueing.
As it happens, yes, but most of them seem fit to include me as merely a “friend”, rather than want to become romantically entangled with me…. 🙁
Dammit.
