How many airmiles did he have?

Been sorting through my photos from my London trip (internet was down so no more excuse to postpone it :(). I noticed that this UA plane was named “customer Richard H. Leung”.

What’s the story behind that. What do you have to do to get a plane named after you? Did he win a competition? Was he the first to get 1.000.000 FF-miles? Did he bribe someone?

I thought it had to do with him being the first (or one of the first) to hit 1 million miles.

Born in Hong Kong in 1961, Richard Leung emigrated to the United States in 1975 with the rest on his family. He went to college and majored in business and art. He joined his father, H. Leung, and his brother, Thomas Leung, in the world of art as the youngest on the Leung artists. While growing up, he spent many years under his father’s tutelage to develop his inherent skill and to improve his technique.
Today, Richard Leung’s paintings follow in the family tradition of creating beauty on canvas, depicting soft, dreamlike mountainscapes and tropical beaches.

Maybe he did something to help UA like calmed a plane load of passengers down or something?
