Hi,
the recent talk of getting the Shuttleworth Racer back in the air got me checking out ebay for Airfix examples.
I was surprised to find a Red, Black and Green example.
So I was wondering how many Comet Racers were made, what colours did they fly in and, how many still survive?

I always thought that the S5 replica had a Lycoming or similar:confused:, but I just read that it had a Napier Lion….is this true..? If so, I wonder what happened to it after the fatal accident…?

Not all went to the U.S -a former Leisure Sport Sopwith Baby replica was on display at the Lands End attraction before it moved to Yorkshire.

Lost Aviation Collections of Britain lists twenty seven aircraft as being present at Thorpe Park at one time and another. A number were real aircraft, other were replicas, some flyable, some non flyable. The fates of most are listed. G-ASEA is correct several non-flying replicas went to Chino.

Chino I think. There are some non-flying replicas in the racing hangar at Planes of Fame.

What about the others…?
Viv Belamy built this flyer, plus some taxyable non flying racing seaplanes. I think one was an Italian type. I think they were for Thorpe Park…? Does anyone on here know what happened to them…?
