How to repair an aircraft with duct tape after it has been destroyed by a bear

This is a pretty interesting story, along with some good photographs.

I was boarded a KLM flight from Eindhoven to Heathrow on one the Fokkers (F-27 ?) and the pilot was supervising duck/duct tape being wrapped around one of the props.

I don’t do that trip often any more…. Eindhoven airport is a nice place to be (very quiet) and you often see the KC-135’s come and go as well as the B-25 that is based there (was based there?)

Lions would chew tires in Southern Africa. You had to pile branches around the plane to keep them away.

Next time use the duct tape on the bear to prevent it ripping up your airplane:p

Is the story true? I was sent a link to the photos by a friend earlier but I wasnt sure if the story was true or not as we all too often see random photos of a plane damaged with stories that often have reasons stated that are not true.

Always had some duct tape in my toolbox when operating away from base – together with safety lockwire, Prestik blue (is that still around?) and assorted O-ring seals and sealant.
Never had a bear problem – birds can inflict some nasty damage, though.
