How well would….

I was looking over the performance of some of the latest trainers like the Pilatus PC-21 and Super Tucano and started wondering how well they would do against the top WW2 fighter designs..like:

The F8F Bearcat
Hawker Sea Fury
F/W TA-52
Any others? F2G maybe? P51H?

Yes, I know most did not see combat but were developed during the war and just missed it.

Clearly armament would be an issue but what about maneuverability? Climb? Turning rate…general dog fighting…speed.

Does a turbine powered trainer meet the performance envelope of 60 year old piston planes? The turbine craft would surely be up on reliability…

It seems to me that a PC-21 would be quite something to contend with.
