Is Duncan Baker’s Howard 500 still sitting down at Exeter or in those neck of the woods? If so, does it fly at all? Found a photo of it at ABpic displaying at Coventry in 2000. But not much info after that.

Just got word that Baker’s Howard has been sold to the same group which own N500HP in the US. Anyone with further info regarding this?

T.J., I shot a sequence of this aircraft at the 50’s Festival of Flying at Coventry in 2003. I need to edit it, and find out how to display on a suitable site – if you’re interested I’ll have a go !

Yep its all locked up and you wouldn’t be able to pass through the security gate without the necessary equipment to even access the road that would take you to the hangar. That particular hangar is privately owned so access seems to be only for a privilaged few! Luckily I was in there by invite of the owner 🙂 Shame – but it is a great looking plane!

Man, the ex- Tony Hutton Beech 18 lives there too… I flew in that one twice just before the 1986 Fighter Meet. The late Peter Treadaway was the pilot with Mark Smith in the right seat. My buddy Glenn and me in the back together with Wile E. Coyote.
Does anyone know if it would be possible to see the Howard if I venture down to Exeter at some stage, or is it locked up like Fort Knox?
