Howcome so powerful

After an 7 hour delay with GSM101 yesterday my 767-300 G-CEFG took off at 9pm from MAN-YYZ. What questions me is take off was extremley powerful and rotation was less than 30 seconds. No spooling up just straight into full power. Did my aircraft possibly use 100%.

Oh, lighten up!

He just feels some empathy, having been in similar ridiculed situations himself:)

Surely some of the posts in this thread contravene forum rules? Surely Tommyinyork has the same right as everyone else to ask a question without being made fun of, especially by a moderator?

Some of you should take a look in the mirror and feel ashamed of yourself…

When I flew with Etihad a couple of months ago, I made three flights on their 777-300ERs. Crammed with passengers, I wondered how long it would take for the aircraft to get airborne. I was very surprised to discover that it took just a few seconds. The engines on that beast must be very powerful.

A full 777 seemed to get up much quicker than a full 737 I flew only a few weeks later.

Maybe the PIC was trying to get home faster, as he could hear a piercing voice in the cabin, asking silly questions, like where will the sun set, how long with this plane hold together cos it could be old, does it have leather toilet cushins…

Even a heavy 767 still has the performance that can blow others away. Depending on the engine variant, it could have over a massive 120,000lbs of thrust to give a kick in the pants and climb like a homesick angle.

Never mind all that!

What colour were the seat cushions, and did the IFE have an Esperanto audio option? :diablo:

that sir deserves a pint!!

ok it is very rare that airliners use 100% as there engines are overpowered.

🙂

As far as I’m aware aircraft will quite often, maybe once every two weeks or once a month, take off using 100% thrust, i.e. not de-rated. I think LS ‘blow the dust out of’ their 757’s once every month (I’m sure EGNM can correct me if I’m wrong), so it’s quite possible your takeoff wasn’t de-rated.

They probably wanted to get away as quickly as possible considering it was a 7 hour delay. Might have been heavy too, that’s another reason.
