Ross,

I’m sure there will be a few of us who can give you a lift to the show, if you decide to come over 😀

Thanks for the offer. I’ll see what happens.

the United States Public-Trans system Stinks! Wait, I take that back, if we had one it would stink.

So I would not count on it. But don’t take my word on it.

Edit:

Rob
Keep me posted. One never knows how things will work out. I may need a ride, if Kelly doesn’t want to go or can’t.

Is there any public transport to this event? I’ll be off work for summer in August and am very tempted to go. Being a non driver might make it a bit awkward though.

No Spit’s yet!

Rob
I’m not sure what the plan is yet for Kelly & myself. Besides that fact I NEED TO BE THERE. What is the N.E. WIX plan. Is there one yet?

I was hoping to make a few side stops (like MAPS in Ohio). That part of the trip is still in the works.

Tim

Hi Tim,

The plan that we are working on is getting a RV for the grand Wix Road Show, the last time I spoke with Scott about it was he was going to look into it and get back to me.

If we do the RV route then it should be rather fun, wonder if you can get in that much trouble for RV Surfing 😮 😀

Cheers

Big Bombers air show/ capture the sounds!

I hope someone gets sound recordings of all those engines running up and flying over!!!!!!

Holy COW!!!! How often do you ever get that chance!!!!????

Can you imagine the sounds of aircraft overhead when the formations stretched from horizon to horizon????

It sounds like Oshkosh is getting very weak on the Warbird end of things.

I guess if the money is there so will the a/c.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if a number of them didn’t pop in to Oshkosh along the way.

Do you reckon they’ll fly around the lake, or in a straight line across it?

Good question about the lake. Coming from Oshkosh, if they cross it between Milwaukee and Muskegon, it’s still 90 miles across. Going around may add an hour or two to the trip, however I think it would be worth it for safety’s sake.

If the Collings foundation planes and the CWH lanc are added to the list, I might drive the 1500 miles to the show… 🙂

It could be the biggest number of B-17s seen anywhere for a long time…

Hi John,

Both of the Collings aircraft are slated to be there as I guess they are trying to work out the money with the Lanc.

Can you see the photo op now, the 17s in a staggered box followed by the Lanc in lead with both 24 off wing and the 29 in the slot.

With the four 25 following them yea baby its going to be a fun show 😀

That sounds like an amazing Airshow! Now if we could only get the Hampden hooked up with a couple of Bristol’s…

The organizers of this show have been doing a spectacular job over the last few years, particularly bringing multiple types together at the same time. I was living in Chicago for some years, and went to two of the shows, in 2002 and 2003. My 2003 page includes a diagram of the airfield layout, as well as a highlights page. Unfortunately it seems that I still haven’t gotten around to putting a page together on the 2002 show ( ), which featured 6 B-25s in the air.

Good Lord willing we will be there with our B-24 and 17, I will post all weekend on webshots. We are looking forward to this show as well as the chance to see all this metal on one ramp. Witchcraft is getting her noseart and is looking great. The 17 is running like a champ as we finish up the Florida portion of our tour this coming weekend.

Hi All,

This is one of three biggest show in the States this year, they are working on getting the CWH to bring the Lanc over.

I will be going with a rather large group of us New England Folks.

Tim are you going to be following are group over.

Check out the cheap entry cost too.

and then offer to pay it twice, they need all the help they can get after the fire at the museum!
