Yes, most likely a British operated Liberator.
Don’t know much about control columns, but what was the final verdict?
Was it a B24? If so with the AM buttons could it have been (Big guess here!) British operated perhaps from Coastal Command? or were the AM buttons subsequently added?

If you register on eBay it will be possible to ‘PM’ the winner directly through eBay.
Will that still work even though the bids were kept private? If it doesnt could always contact the seller and go through him. Bex

HE ALSO SAYS THAT IT CAME OFF OF A PLANE THAT WAS BADLEY DAMAGED ON A ATTACK ON ANTWERP IN 1940 ( NO 83 SQUADRON ) .
All adds to the sales potential, doesn’t it?
Here’s a B24 wheel from the collection for comparison purposes…
(it’s still a nice bit of kit, though!)

I’m amazed they put the Transmit button and Bomb release button so close to each other
I wonder if that ever caused one of those “I’m sure I pressed the right button” moments.
Regards,
John.
