HP Victor drawings?

I recently had cause to remember that among a little collection of Handley Page memorabilia I had stashed away is a Victor drawing (Drg No 80528A Sheet 1 of 3 “Improved Camouflage Painting Scheme” if that means anything to anyone). It is the sheet 1 of 3 that irritates me as I only have sheet 1. How easy would it be to obtain the other two sheets? I hasten to add I am merely interested in their informational value, I don’t actually have a Victor to repaint.

This particular copy I obtained from the Handley Page PR office. If you went in and asked them if you could personally have some Victor drawings, this is what they offered you. Supposedly it was significant that it does not show end-on views and that makes it difficult to come to conclusions about range and performance (particularly important if you were a Russian spy:diablo:). Strangely they would let you have photographs, some of which were end-on views. I considered also gettings some plans of other HP types, but was beaten to it by the closedown.

Same here. My enquiry got the response that their Handley Page archives are being transferred to the RAF Museum and that I should try the latter “in the new year”. At least we know where they are (or rather will be).

I recently enquired of the IWM about drawings of another HP type, and was told the whole lot were in the process of being transferred to the RAF Museum, and that I should ask them “in the New Year”.

Snailmail doesn’t quite fit the bill…:D

In my time with IWM, I’m pretty sure several pallets of H-P drawings arrived. mainly Victor. I don’t know how well archived or accessible they are…..

I would think DoRIS at the RAFM at Hendon is your best bet, they hold drawings of aircraft, equipment, and airfields that the AHB & TNA passes on to them.
