I’ve got a number of instruments that were removed from HS Trident 3 G-AWZO shortly before she was scrapped at Hatfield in 2002. They all come from the Flight Engineer’s panel and consist of contents guages, voltmeters, fuel consumption guages etc.
They’ve been sitting in the back of a cupboard ever since and I was wondering firstly if they would be of any use to anyone on the forum,it would be nice to see them go to a good home.
More seriously,I’ve also been wondering if they might pose any kind of health hazard. Were radio-active coatings still being applied to instrument faces by then?

Andy Lee (who owns Zulu-India at FAST) is also a member of TPS and can be contacted via the TPS site mentioned above…. 🙂

The chaps at FAST in Farnborough have the cockpit section of G-AWZI on display. I think their instrument panel is pretty complete but they might be worth contacting too.

Thanks guys,I’ll put a post up on the TPS/Zulu-Kilo boards and see if there are any takers. I’ve just moved house and I’m having a bit of a clearout,I’ll stick ’em up on Ebay if there’s no interest elsewhere.

I doubt they contain any radiological hazards.

Hi there!
You may want to direct your question to our (Trident Preservation Society) forum, located here which is part of the TPS websites (www.zulukilo.org and www.hs121.org) 🙂

Have you spoken to anyone connected to G-AWZK? There are plans to build a flight simulator out of a Trident nose section to support ZK and they might have a use for some instruments.
