Huey

Saw a great program about helicopter development on the Military Channel today, and they had some truly superb footage of some rare helos….everything from the Bell Scout that preceeded the HueyCobra, to the ultra-rare Mi-12 (what a monster!), to amazing footage of the Lynx doing some incredible aerial acrobatics.

In any case they of course talked about the Huey and I got to thinking just what a great helo the old Huey has been. It is arguably the most recognizable symbol of the Vietnam War, and it has seen combat all over the world in every decade it has been flying, up to and including operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsehwere right now.

Just thought I’d use you guys to come up with some great Huey pics. They can be flying or on the ground, with tons of weapons or no weapons, in crazy paint schemes, and in the markings of any of the users of the Huey…..they can be anything. Let’s just see what remarkable Huey images we can come up with.

Here’s to 40 more years of Huey operations!
