Huey 509 was flying at Blackpool Airport last Saturday 9th May 09 doing its Display Practices and Display Auth trips with the CAA.
4 pilots, including the owner fly and display this rare beauty and what a lovely sight and sound she presents.
At time of writing, Huey 509 is the only flying UH-1H in the UK and will soon be joined by another Vietnam Vet, Loach 011, OH-6 going through the permit to fly paperwork.
Once that is completed, a Cobra, YES a flying Cobra, serial 734 will arrive on the scene to join as number 3! The only other flying Cobra in Europe i believe is the Red Bull one in Switzerland so, the 3 ship event should cause quite a stir!

Fly Safe as always.

Well done team! Here in NZ they’re common as anything, mind you still in active service rather than as warbirds. Looking forward to seeing shots at shows this season.
And a Loach? Please oh please keep up updated on that one! Lovely photos on the website.

Just to avoid confusion, aren’t they called Huey Cobras?
Thanks for info as I didn’t even know there was one in the UK, be nice to see it sometime.
