Very nice little earner for Airbus, especially with the rest of the Airbus fleet order………

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20071011/ts_afp/spainairlineorderscompanyairbusboeingmarsans

Quote” A Marsans spokesman said the order signed Thursday in Madrid comprised four A380s, 10 A350s, 42 A320s, five A330s, plus 12 A330s previously ordered in December 2006. The planes will be operational between 2008 and 2014.”

Just to say that Air Comet is the second biggest longhaul airline in Spain, and with plans to extend their network to inland Spain, Europe and Asia to be second biggest in all aspects.

Air Pullmantur bellongs to Royal Caribbean but it´s managed by Marsans which is also a shareholder.

Marsans Group if one of the biggest tourist operator in Spain which owns everything. The main objective of the this order is………….

-Replace ageing Aerolineas Argentinas specially longhaul B747-200
-Boost Air Comet stupendous growth in South America
-Send the A380 to Air Pullmantur.

Why to Air Pullmantur?. Well, it´s an airline just destinated to feed Pullmantur Cruises. Their key for success is low cost, high service all inclusive cruises “spanish style” (tapas, fiesta, drinks….music) to the market. Their growth is great and that´s why Royal Caribbean (second biggest cruise company in the world) has just puchased it.

They operated two ageing B747-200 (ex Air France and Lufthansa) and a B747-300 ex varig. They couldn´t cope with all the passengers to fill all the ships in summer and hardly in winter in the Caribbean with a small vessels. Big Royal Caribbean ships are being transfered from march 2008, so fleet is urgent.

As far as know, they will incorporate two B747-400 as long as the A380 is not available. Probably the only airline in the world just for cruisers.

Seems a very optimistic order for the owner of an airline with thirteen aircraft and a bankrupt South American airline.
