Rumour has it; rumour that is morphing into fact, that there is 2 billion (that’s not a slip of the digit actually meaning million) repeat 2 billion of pension funds missing from the cashiers till at British Steel.
Does anyone have any idea where it is ? In preparation for a nationwide detective hunt, I’ve prepared a number of sleuthing kits almost free to the first one hundred thousand to apply. The kits combine a bloodhound of friendly disposition, a large magnifying glass, fake sideburns and a lookalike Sherlock Holmes deerstalker hat. A fetching outfit, if I say so myself.
Almost free ? The fee is you have to buy a current copy of any newspaper or periodical with an interesting financial section to find some initial clues as to the whereabouts of said cash. One rumour is that it has been used to buy lots of steel ingots to dump on the Chinese in an act of petty revenge.
I’m not buying into that particular theory. Some commentators are saying that this enormous pile of mazuma, rightly belonging to the British Steel horny handed sons of toil, has been subsumed into the TATA morass of financial invention leading to TATA saying ta-ta.
Others are saying that the financial genius of the late unlamented Robert Maxwell (see Google) has cast a spell over the TATA board resulting in an inventive improvisation of funding to keep the good ship TATA afloat a little longer hoping for a latter day Micawber to turn up.
I will lead for the interrogation: WHERE’s THE MONEY GORN ?

As most appear to be heavily asleep, I’ll write this very quietly; does no one have an opinion or better still insider knowledge as to the whereabouts of the alleged missing British Steel pension funds ?
I would’ve staked my oath, that the forum lefties at least, would’ve risen on mass to condemn something which, on appearances only, has all the ingredients of a dastardly capitalist cash grab from the sweat stained grasp of the proletariat!
