Hungary to buy leased Gripens

Hungary will buy the 14 leased Gripens when the lease contract ends, according to the hungarian minister of defence today.
The defence minister, Mr. Ferenc Juhasz, made the announcement when he gave information about the fact that Hungary are to upgrade their 14 Jas 39 Gripen to Nato standard.

FMV’s Ulf Lindström says to SVT-Text that “it’s a breakthrough since it’s the first time a Nato-member buys Jas 39 Gripen.”

A green light has to be given by the Hungarian parliament though.
