Hunter WV381 Moves

After a short period at RAF Benson, where she had her nose section removed from the centre section and had various electrical boxes taken out, the nose was roaded out to Kemble to come under the care of the Blackburn Buccaneer Society on Sunday (24th June).

The move, which was uneventful, was undertaken by owner, Dave Webb and Myself, with thanks to Duncan Taylor of Taylors Of Newbury for use of the transporter.

The plan is to get 381 up together over the next couple of months, then have her available for local shows.

I will post up some photos later this evening.

WV381 Public Debut

The Kemble open day held yesterday (Sunday 9th) saw the first ‘public showing of Daves cockpit. I for one was very impressed with the progress made in a short time and with it now resplendant with a seat and canopy, amongst the many additions and repairs.
It shows whats possible with what many would consider a ‘basket case’ with some effort and enthusiasm.
Below is a picture as it was seen yesterday, all I can say is well done Dave !

We are not sure at this moment whether or not, 381 will be displayed alongside XX889 at the Kemble Open Day on Sunday 9th September, I will try and keep you up to date with her progress.

No problems Colin, shame we didn’t get an on the move shot as I am sure Dave would have appreciated it.

As promised/threatened, here are a few images of WV381.
