Hunter XF995 – a 'new' Hunter variant!?

Scampton-based Hawker Hunter Aviation (HHA) has recently flown its Hawker Hunter T.8B XF995, with the addition of a seeker head fitted in the nose!
It is being used on trials work involving the new Sea Ceptor family of anti-air missiles. HHA’s two F-58s may also become involved in due course.

All three airframes are currently housed at RNAS Yeovilton, and the T.8B has been out and about this week.
Firstly on a dark and murky Tuesday afternoon…

Ok thanks. I heard it but by the time i got to the window it was climbing out, so apart from realising it was a Hunter two seater that was it. Nice photo by the way.

It’s great to see the old girls in an operational role, and earning their keep, just goes to show how many of the worlds air arms dismiss and replace their hardware far too early!

Very nice. Is this the two seat Hunter that came through Duxford last week?
