Hurricane aerofoil section

Does anyone know what aerofoil sections were used on the Hurricane?

I have collected lots of info on the Hurricane but I have yet to be able to find information on the wing and emphenage sections which shows actual dimensions.

Thanks,

I have an airfoil generating software called Compufoil and I can send you .dxf files for the Clark YH at the correct percentages if you like. Just send me a private email at cvnkv@aol.com and I will reply with the files. I’m not sure that scaling in AutoCAD will give you entirely accurate results.

Bradburger- Clark YH (19% at the root, 12.2% at the tip) was the section used on the Hurricane.

Hi Bradburger, thanks for providing directions to a most interesting site. Lots of neat info. I have always been fascinated with aerodynamics! Once I work out how to modify for thickness (maybe directionally scale in AutoCAD?) it will be interesting to plot the DXF of Clark YH and compare to the undimensioned sections I have. Thank-you.

Tom H- I have the info, but you will have to give me some time to find it.

Hi Tom H, that would be most appreciated. If you are able to locate the info, PM me. I have plenty of time (hopefully!), my Hurricane hobby has been keeping me interested for years. I had a more thorough look at your website today, you have an impressive range. The 2/3 scale lysander would be interesting to see. Congratulations on your appointment as Executive Director. Havn’t been able to make it to Edmonton for some time, but next time I do I will be sure to visit your museum.

If you need a good reference for airfoil sections, then this is the best I’ve found:

If someone can help quicker it would be better.

Need a laugh…the reason I know I have it is we are redesigning the wing on our our experimental aircraft to use it!

give me some time and I will find it.
