Probably somewhere in the region of £5 million upwards, if you wanted to buy & operate it for a few years. This is a rollover lottery type sum of money and, as it happens, there’s a rollover this Saturday (the 1st.December).
Don’t spend it all though, as the missus will want a new pair of shoes….

I probably wouldn’t disagree with you, Mike J, although I am a little ‘close’ to this sale in certain respects – so I probably shouldn’t be saying that. However, if my number comes up, and the figure is big enough, then unsold it won’t be!
Out of interest, what do other forumites think would be an ideal lottery win total to realise a dream like this?

Well if I had the money ………………………. sigh!!!!!!
I’d buy it,build it a nice little hangar and just go out and look at it every day.

I fear another UK warbird may be heading across the pond ?
Which would not be unreasonable, considering that an airworthy one has just come the other way.
In any case, this is a Canadian-built one which served only in Canada, so I wouldn’t class it purely as a UK warbird.

My money’s on it remaining unsold. It has been on the market for a while, along with the NZ example, and there has also been talk of the Ed Russell one also being available. We’ll all know the answer to that in a few days, though.

The estimate indicates that you might be needing up to £2.1 m.

Even better.
Enough money to buy it, maintain it, operate it, insure it….and even learn to fly it!
