Does anyone have, or can we piece together, a chronology of all the first flights of rebuilt Hawker Hurricanes since the Battle of Britain film in 1969 when there were famously only three left flying.
I’m curious to know when and where each example that has taken flight since made its aerial debut. And can we add in who owns each, where they are now and if they’re still flying? Plus if they are displayed publicly (either inthe air or in a museum).
It seems amazing that right into the 1990’s there were only three, and now there seems to be loads of flyers, which is great. What is the biggest factor in the resurgence? Would I have been the establishment of Hawker Restorations? Or the discoveries of numerous airframes in Russia? Something else?

Ah yes, you’re undoubtedly correct there Daz. That’s just the sort of thing I mean, I am not sure when each one took flight and so a chronology would be handy.
For my part I can say the AFC Hurricane here in NZ first flew 21st 0f January 2000, and it continues to fly today, and is displayed and is still owned by Sir Tim Wallis.

I would have thought probably both.
Weren’t there 4 Hurricanes flyable in the 1990s until the CWH fire destroyed the other? (whose reggie I forget) The two BBMF kites, TFC’s I thought first flew in 1990, and the CWH aircraft…
