'Hurricane' Display at North Weald 16th May

14.43 Hurricane dispaying at North Weald, any ideas why? and in this weather? just heard them on NW radio

There were three Extras doing a short routine after returning from a formation sortie at about that time. Perhaps they were using that callsign. Wx OK, but it started to rain shortly afterwards.

It’s Formation Training Week at NW, so lots of Yaks and Extras around.

Yes the Yaks were using the call-sign ‘Hurricane’, the Mustang was using the call-sign ‘Mustang’ so an easy conclusion to draw. It will be another year or so before a Hurricane will be seen regularly at Weald, the Yaks will then need to think up a new call-sign!

Thanks YAK rider, not very nice using Hurricane as a call sign I came over all dizzy for missing a Hurricane at NW
