you can take tablets for that nowadays. I’m led to believe

I thought that the tablets helped you get the gear up, but once up, it wouldn’t come down again for several hours, (even when you’d lost interest in “the job in hand”) or is that a different med?

As to the matter of hydraulic problems on Hurricanes, ask the BBMF !

I am not saying that I know better than the pilot of this Hurri but would it be normal practice for the engine to be cut sooner ? There just seemed to be a lot of forward momentum taking place once the leg had clearly (to the observer) folded.

No slur intended on the pilot just curious about moments like this.

Question?

When is an accident not an accident ????

Ans; When no one has got any evidence only speculation and rumour

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Fantastic.
I wish I could see the painful expressions on those that are desperate to be first with the news….whatever that might be!

I’m surprised nobody has mentiioned the fact that PT quickly dealt with it and then jumped back in his spitfire to do another display.

From Seager Pub / Flyer

I am reliably informed that the landing was fine, but that there was a hydraulic problem and the gear then folded. Having supervised the recovery – Mr Teichmann jumped into the Spitfire and then did another display

The bbmf incident was down to a broken linkage. I think it was one that I overhauled when the aircraft was rebuilt, though clearly it worked fine for some time before the accident happened!

I suppose someone is working on the principal that if you ignore them ( us ), they will go away ;). I quite understand why operators don’t relish attention to their problems, and no doubt we would all feel the same.

Unfortunately, secrets are hard to keep these days, and concern eventually turns to curiosity, then conjecture, and finally humour..

That wasnt a hydraulics problem, it was a problem with the main uc opperating mechanism.
