Hello friends
I don´t want to bother you with the sad story of a complete Mk XIV instrument panel, that was about to get finished and fell off my cupboard with the result of breaking into pieces 😮 😡 but….
I´d rather think about the future and thought about putting together a Hurricane instrument panel to compensate my sad loss.
Now I could need every information available. 😀
A list of the needed instruments/parts would be great. Which fuel gauge? Which boost gauge? What is the primer like handle at the left side? .
Any pictures of historic or restored instrument panels?
Any guys around manufacturing such panels?
Any items available like the MK VIII oxygen regulator, round temp gauges, fuel pressure indicator (earlier versions had it, later replaced by a lamp), special switches and so on?
Thanks a lot for every information!
Kind regards,
Herbert

Hello Nik 🙂
Thanks for your posting.
If so, I don´t mind the collector´s lack of interest, when at the same time I have the chance to purchase Hurricane-only instruments. The price for Spitfire-only items doubled during some years and it´s almost impossible to win an eBay auction except you´re putting all your money in.
Regards,
Herbert

“Are there really no more Hurricane Cockpit enthusiasts except Rocketeer?
Interesting, I know about 30 Spitfire instrument panel builder all around the world but Hurricane seems not to be that interesting for the collectors”

Sorry to hear of the accident. With such parts becoming rarer and more expensive with the passing of time these instrument panels are an expensive labour of love but they do look impressive when completed. Good luck with sourcing and obtaining the necessary items.

Hi Herbert
Sorry to hear about the accident.
Hopefully Rocketeer will appear soon and help you get started.
I think there is perhaps no one more knowledgeable on this board, in respect of Hurricanes, than he.
Not sure if Steve Milnthorpe frequents here too but again he would be another good source of information.
Regards
Michael
