Hurricane Mk I Instrument Panel Questions

I have two questions about the Hurricane Mk I instrument panel. The Canadian instrument panel is based loosely on the Mk I panel but with American type instruments. I have two questions. First, what is the correct reference number for starter push button at lower left of the panel?

The second question is specific to a Canadian panel. I’ve circled a knob that I have no idea what it is for. Not even the Canadian Pilot’s Notes references this knob. Does anyone has know what this knob was for?

Thank you

Thank you all for this feedback. You’ve confirmed my suspicions.

Any idea what the reference number is for the the starter push button for a Mk I Hurricane?

Thanks again!!

It doesnt look very user freindy with those jagged edges. More like a japanese fighting star than a control very strange.

That’s what I’m thinking… possible to open the oxygen tank valve. The pilots notes indicate that the cylinder valve is turned on by a knob to the left and below the seat. Might this be a field modification? I’ve not seen it in another Canadian Hurricane cockpit picture.

Do not know for sure but would imagine its something to do with the oxygen supply?
